Tobacco Transitions

About Us

The Programs

Through the Community Transitions Board and Mike Fidler & Associates, funding has been allocated to the provision of two critical services to those people directly impacted by the decline of the tobacco industry since 2002. The funding covers two critical needs

  • Free Personal Counselling Services through Mike Fidler @ Associates Inc
  • Information and Research assistance through a Transition Consultant

Goals

  • The program will meet many, most or all of the people affected by the need for economic transition through sustained personal outreach over the two year period.
  • The program will link the targeted population, in a knowledgeable, friendly and personal way to the person and service most appropriate to their immediate need and follow through with any additional needs that emerge.
  • The program will provide an easy point of access for discussing resources available for assisting with change and broad planning to achieve personal goals.
  • The program will provide highly skilled, well informed and empathetic counsellors who have a good understanding of the transition hurdles and stresses.
  • The program will assist individuals with identifying barriers to success be they psychological, relationships, education or practical. Through identification, planning and effective actions the program will reduce the obstacles to successful change.
