Job Transitions

written by Celia Stone
Tobacco farmers and workers have many skills that are easily transferred to other sectors. Quality (both inspection and process management) are second nature in tobacco yet is critical to business success in today's manufacturing and service industries.

Working with employment agencies in the area and through the major job sites, our Jobs page will maintain a list of available postings within the Southwestern Ontario area with a focus on agriculture, manufacturing and service industries. Realizing that spouses and children have other skills, we will also post local jobs in other sectors.

Mental Health Transitions

written by Celia Stone

We are co-located and partially funded by Mike Fidler and Associates - a private counseling firm with offices in Simcoe, Brantford, Tillsonburg and Caledonia. Through our connection we are able to offer free counseling to any Canadian citizens involved with tobacco for at least two seasons since since 2002.

Our connection also gives us access to mental health articles that may help answer questions or provide support as one works through the transition. Look for the following articles on our Mental Health page:

In the course of helping one farmer with an idea or question, we frequently encounter possibilities for other farmers to try new things or grow for someone else. We will post these connections and hope you will contact us for more information. Go to our farm page for more details on the following:
